ABOUT

Tidal Creations

Hey hey! I am the founder & photographer of Tidal Creations. I love being able to capture genuine + authentic moments shared between loved ones, and I feel blessed to get to work with such wonderful people each day! Based out of Charleston, SC I’ve had the honor of photographing these special moments for over seven years now. Believe it or not, I have had a camera attached to my hip since I was 9 years old.

Growing up around the blue ridge mountains in VA, I fell in love with capturing the beauty within the world. From what began as a passion for capturing nature’s beauty, it quickly evolved to capturing the love between family members and couples and being there to celebrate the big and small moments of celebration. Getting to know the stories of others and bringing those stories

alive through photography is one of the biggest blessings.

My other passion in life is helping little ones in their early years; I have been a nanny to some of the sweetest families over the last seven years. Over those years, I also developed a deep appreciation and interest for the fields of occupational, physical, and speech therapy for children. I have been able to learn and work alongside many professionals in the area helping children with delays and syndromes, and it has forever changed the lens I view the world.

When I am not helping little ones or doing photography, you will most likely find me helping out with Brand Bar and Events on their wedding planning team as a coordinator. It is such a joy getting to see these special days from start to end while working alongside such a sweet team here in Charleston, SC.

Now of course, we all need to have a little fun, so what do I do in my free time- I spend a lot of time being active whether that's being on the golf course, playing pickleball, hiking, or catching a workout class with some friends. I love spending time outside and going for nice long walks, especially if there's a coffee run along the way. I am extremely close with my cousins, so if I'm not planning our next cousin's reunion, I am most likely on the way to visit one of them. If there is one thing about me, it's that I love a good road-trip. I have a super sweet chocolate lab named Sullivan that loves to cuddle up, so I spend a lot of my downtime with him. During the fall season, if I am not capturing someone's big day, you'll find me cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks and Virginia Tech Hokies.

I think what I have learned over the course of time is that I truly love just being apart of the process. I love getting to know people and their stories, and I love getting to use the skills and knowledge I have to tell their story in a creative way. I love growing alongside others and being able to cheer them on where they're at in life and help support them on the path of where they're trying to go.

If you've made it this far, you're either really interested in working with me or maybe we'll just end up being great friends. Either way, I am so ecstatic to meet each and every one of you along the journey.

Client Love

"Katrina was recommended to me by a co-worker for a small wedding ceremony that my husband and I had at the beach in Isle of Palms. She was such a joy to work with, she was fun, organized, thoughtful and had all of our pictures back to us in no time. From the very beginning, she made us feel comfortable, understood what we were wanting and was genuinely excited about our wedding day. She captured every moment so beautifully, looking through our gallery felt like reliving the day again. We are incredibly grateful for Katrina capturing our special day and are completely obsessed with how everything came out - truly cannot recommend her enough. You can tell this is not just her job, this is her passion and it shows in her work!!"
